Achan’s Sin (Joshua 7:1-26)
This Sunday, we look at what caused Israel’s first failure in their conquest of the Promised Land. For our summer service there will be activities available for the older children in the service and for the younger children in the vestry. Normal children’s groups return in September.

Joshua’s First Battle (Joshua 5:13-6:27)
This Sunday, we look at the battle of Jericho. Although, the normal children’s groups are taking a break for the summer, there will be activities for children in church during the service.

Will we look for God at work in our lives and the lives of those around us? Will we prioritise obeying God, even when it feels odd to do so? Will we live as those on the LORD’s side?

Hope may not be a popular word this week. The hopes of all those who had dared to dream that the English men’s football team might reach the World Cup final for the first time in sixty years – and possibly even win it – were dashed. A sustained Argentinian onslaught brought two late goals to turn an English lead into a crushing defeat. Perhaps it is better not to hope at all? Yet, Christian hope is different.

This Sunday, we look at Israel’s miraculous crossing of the river Jordan. All the children’s groups are running. This is the last Sunday for our children’s groups before our summer break. It is also a communion service.
