This week we began Lent. For many Lent is reduced to the time when you give something up, whether it be chocolate, alcohol, coffee or something else, but traditionally it is meant to be much more than that.

What is faith? Does it matter? We often talk about faith in fairly vague terms. To say someone, “has faith” is often a way of saying they are a Christian or at least a member of a religion. But faith as an idea is not a purely religious word. It has a concrete meaning in day to day life…
