The Trinity at Work (Romans 5:1-5)

This week it is Trinity Sunday, and we will be looking at how the different persons of the Trinity work together to bring us hope. It will be a service of Holy Communion and the normal children’s groups will be running.

….Yet, just because we cannot fully grasp something, does not mean we should not seek to understand as much as we can. If we truly love God, then surely we will want to know him better. And to know God better includes reflecting on his nature as Trinity.

Unity: Babel and Pentecost (Genesis 11:1-9)

This week it is Pentecost, when we remember the coming of the Holy Spirit on the church for the first time and the preaching of the gospel in tongues people from all nations could understand. It is also our special gift day, and we encourage regular members to bring their response forms to the Planned Giving Review. The normal children’s groups will be running.

This week, we are looking together at The Story of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11:1-9 and the events of Acts 2, where the Holy Spirit comes on the day of Pentecost. Both of these events demonstrate the great power of human unity and God’s response to it, but in very different ways.
